A photograph captured by Shaun Hudson, our marketing creative manager, at the Roanoke County Career and Technical Education building job site earned a Top Photograph recognition by Engineering News-Record magazine.

Each year the contest draws entries from construction professionals, photographers, and jobsite workers around the world who capture compelling images of projects, equipment, and crews in action.
Shaun captured the image during the installation of the roof of the new CTE building. “Each week, I captured the progress of the important building,” he said. “Because this will become teach the next generations of trade men and women, I look for shots that show the skill, precision, and artistry that we bring to the job.”
ENR was drawn to the “lone craftsman, amidst steel beams, carefully placed and secured into place made for a perfect shot. The image captures the profound scale of modern construction. The sharp lines, shadows, and geometry emphasize the precision and discipline it takes to construct the infrastructure that sustains our communities.”
Congratulations, Shaun!
