Balls Ford Road Widening

Branch was the Prime Contractor for this design-build project that provides a new grade-separated interchange at Route 234, the Prince William Parkway and the relocated 621 Balls Ford Road, which includes a bridge crossing over the existing Norfolk Southern Railroad.

In addition, the project relocates Balls Ford Road as a new four-lane facility with a raised median between Doane Drive and Devlin Road. The project also included a 16-foot-wide grass median, a 10-foot-wide shared-use path and a 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk along the south and north side of the road, respectively. Completing the stretch of road that runs parallel to I-66 will also improve commerce in the industrial area the road serves. Changes help alleviate a major traffic choke in the county, provide improved access to the new commuter park and ride facility and easy access to Interstate 66 and the Express Lanes.
