Branch Group expanding to new corporate headquarters location in Roanoke

Oct 5, 2021

The Branch Group, one of the largest construction companies in Virginia, is relocating and expanding into a new corporate headquarters building in Roanoke, Virginia. The company has purchased a 58,000+ square foot building on Peters Creek Road in Roanoke to expand and consolidate its three current office locations. New signage announcing the company’s future home was unveiled last Friday.

“We saw the purchase of the former Kroger Regional headquarters as a great opportunity to grow and expand while maintaining our commitment to Roanoke and Southwest Virginia,” said Donald Graul, Branch Group CEO. “Even though we are expanding our presence throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States, a vast majority of our 800 employees live and work in the Roanoke region, and this provides us an opportunity to further collaborate on critical projects for our customers.”

The transaction was handled by Waldvogel Commercial Properties, Inc. (Steve Zegarski and Jason Fountain), Newmark, and S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. (Fenton Childers). Branch will begin immediate renovations to the facility and plans to take occupancy in early 2022. The company will incorporate its rich history and its employee-owners’ input into the new design.

Founded in 1963, the Branch Group provides corporate services and strategic leadership to its operating companies, Branch Civil, Branch Builds, and G.J. Hopkins | Lacy, so that they can meet the growing demands of the construction industry. Together, they touch on all aspects of the built environment and are committed to exceptional performance and to developing business relationships sustained by mutual benefit and respect.

The Branch Group and family of operating companies is 100 percent employee owned. This ownership model has produced a culture where each employee has a vested interest in the successful completion of every project and absolute satisfaction for every client.
