CF Harvey Parkway

Branch delivered the C.F. Harvey Parkway Extension project to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) under budget and 209 days ahead of schedule on February 4, 2021. The 5.8-mile limited access highway Project from NC 58 to NC 11 comprised of:

  • Seven sets of dual bridges (14 bridges total)
  • Approximately 3,800,000 cubic yards (CY) of borrow
  • 43,000 CY of undercut excavation
  • 32,000 linear feet (LF) of storm drain piping
  • 250,000 tons of asphalt

C.F. Harvey Parkway improved connectivity in northern Kinston between US70 NC58, and NC 11 and greatly benefited the region by linking several industrial parks, East Carolina University Medial Center and residential areas.

The largest challenge of this project were the construction of 14 bridges over 9 environmentally sensitive and low-lying areas. Branch was able to work with a key contractor to construct several bridges simultaneously, helping to advance the schedule while also avoiding any environmental violations or corrective actions
